Tessa van Meerten is a 31-year old woman, living in the city center of Antwerp. Ever since she was young, she dreamed of building her own company from scratch. She always looked up to people who started their own company from their "garage". Well, she now tells everybody how it all started in her own kitchen.
After growing up in Arendonk, she moved to Ghent to study Economics at the University. After graduating she started working as an employee for 6 years in big and medium sized international companies. This gave her the experience, background and, even more important, the confidence she needed to start her own business. When corona started, she took the big leap to become self-employed.
Now, 3 years later, Foodprepper is moving from start-up to scale-up. It's been her biggest adventure so far. They are going to scale to national level, being able to supply households with fresh and ready-to-eat food for a healthy workweek. Being so busy nowadays, healthy food (really healthy, not marketing-healthy) is SO important, for all ages.
Currently she is in food delivery business, but is very curious what the future will bring. Being entrepreneurial, impatient, enthusiastic and always open for new ideas, she is very sure she will found, co-found or partner in another company one day.
