Jan has a Master degree in Sciences (Msc), Business Engineering / Qualitative Economics from UHasselt and a MBA degree from the University of Swansea – Wales, UK / UHasselt (Erasmus exchange program)
He has more than 25 years professional experience in the private sector in a wide variety of industries (Banking, Manufacturing, Consultancy Services, Telecom), domains (Finance, IT, Product Mgt, Solution Sales, Marketing), company sizes (from start-ups to big corporate organizations) and in responsibility growing roles. From 2018 to 2021 Jan was Vice President B2B Marketing & Digital at Proximus, Belgium’s leading Telco & IT provider.
Jan is currently guest lecturer B2B Marketing at UC Leuven-Limburg. He founded 2, still running, start-ups in the area of data analytics and modelling and since January 2022 he is Managing Director of Leuven MindGate.
*Leuven MindGate is a non-profit member organization founded in 2016 by Stad Leuven, KU Leuven, imec, and 29 leading innovators in the ‘triple helix’ (government, knowledge institutes & industry) Leuven ecosystem. Today it connects 375+ organizations active in the Leuven Innovation Region. The common DNA of these organizations is that they all focus on challenges and innovation in Health & Life Sciences, Early Stage High Tech and Creativity domains.
The mission of Leuven MindGate is triple. 1) Build a vision & action plan how this vibrant region can further develop its innovative clout. 2) Connect innovators in a strong local network. This is done through 30+ inspirational and peer-to-peer B2B events yearly. 3) Promote the Leuven Innovation Region internationally to attract new investments and talent.
