Maurice Engelen is a Belgian artist, best known for Praga Khan.
He began his music career as the founder of an independent record label Antler-Subway Records. Besides electronic dance music and alternative indie bands, the record label also focused on pop and rock artists.
As a performing artist, Engelen achieved his greatest success under his pseudonym Praga Khan.
In addition to his strictly musical projects, Engelen is also interested in other art forms. Among other things, he wrote the music for Not Strictly Rubens commissioned by the Royal Ballet of Flanders, mixed art with technology in the theater tour Frame By Frame, created film scores for American blockbuster such as Basic Instinct, Austin Powers, Strange days and Sucker Punch and composed the soundtrack for the game Mortal Kombat.
Angels was also a judge on the TV show "X Factor". He also co-founded the music platform SonicAngel, Belgium's first crowdfunding platform for budding artists.
